Cashew LIme Bars

The number of overweight people around the world continues to escalate and it is now estimated that approximately two thirds of us are overweight to one degree or another. We have been conditioned for so long that the only way to get our body weight under control is to go on some sort of diet. But it has now been well proven there are major flaws in this mindset.

Despite what we have been told, fat loss has little to do with a mathematical equation such as calories in vs calories out. The body does not work that way. The human body is more concerned with nutrients than calories. If you are getting all the vitamins, minerals and other essential elements that you need through following a healthy balanced diet you will not have to count calories at all.

We tend to eat almost all of our food cooked but lately we are now becoming aware that some raw foods in our daily diet is good for us as they have their enzymes, vitamins and nutrient intact and not destroyed by heating and cooking. One easy way to eat this raw uncooked food is in the form of healthy snacks.

Healthy snacks can help us eat better rather than less

These healthy snacks can play a helpful role in our constant quest to lose weight as they not only knock some refined, processed and unhealthy food from our diets they supply us with the nutrients that are needed to lose body fat.

So, rather than focusing on restricting food intake we focus on improving the quality of our food intake. When we do this our fat storing/fat burning hormones become more balanced and we can lose weight so much easier and faster. When our diet is made up of mainly processed or cooked foods our body turns up our appetite regulation system which creates intense food cravings and we wonder why we cannot lose weight and often keep eating long after we should be full and satisfied.

It is not just your lack of will power; it is your body trying to tell you it needs certain nutrients. Maybe it is more protein, healthy carbohydrates or fats, certain minerals or vitamins all of which have been destroyed by food processing long before they go into our mouths. One or two healthy snacks each day is going to not only keep your feeling full and satisfied it will help you resist binging or overeating later in the day. Here is an example of one of dozens of mouth-watering healthy snacks that you can quickly and easily make yourself for just a few dollars.
